Piramal Foundation, MAD & Mumbai First Collaborate To Beautify Mumbai's Railway Stations

Piramal Foundation has partnered with Make a Difference (MAD) and Mumbai First to beautify Mumbai’s railway stations. The initiative ‘Hamara Station Hamari Shaan’ involves experts from MAD & Mumbai First and employees of Piramal Foundation to paint murals at any of Mumbai’s 36 train stations from now till 8^th October. Participants can choose either of the time slots - 10 am to 4 pm Or 8 pm to 12 am.

As part of its Employee Social Impact (ESI) program, Piramal Foundation aims to promote employee volunteering and associates with social causes to create a positive difference in the lives of people.

In addition to mural painting at railway stations, the Foundation has invited artists to conduct pro bono sessions on interesting subjects like healing, photography, baking, etc. Piramal Foundation employees will donate a fee to participate in these workshops and as a result, the funds collected will go to Annamrita, the mid-day meal initiative they support.

Piramal Foundation works towards developing innovative, high impact and technology-based sustainable solutions in the four broad areas of healthcare, education, safe drinking water and women empowerment. The Foundation also partners with grass root level as well as established NGOs by supporting them in various capacities – so far they have completed approximately 18,000 volunteering hours. Nearly 3000 hours were spent on women empowerment initiatives, 2000 hours on health, 600 hours on building communication skills of children etc. Other activities conducted previously include aiding municipal school children in their academics and co circular activities, mentoring children and youth, conducting wellness and health sessions and camps, visiting old age homes, aiding artisans in small scale industries, building social business plans, financial budgeting, preparing HR modules, tree plantation, beach clean ups and so on.
