(January 25, 2017): Oriflame India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Swedish cosmetics major has sponsored education for 1,000 girls from Deepalaya School. Their philanthropic initiatives marked the beginning of a celebratory year for Oriflame as the brand completed 50 years globally.
Sergei Kanashin, SVP and Head of South Asia & MD, Oriflame India said he was delighted to share Oriflame’s commitment to make the world a better place. The brand donated two buses for the students of Deepalaya for smooth conveyance and distant travel. In addition to that, Oriflame gave additional monetary support to the school and to boost the morale of the students, appreciation certificates were given to the students at the event.
Speaking at the event, Sergei Kanashin, SVP and Head of South Asia & MD India said,“2017 is a year of celebration for us. We have completed 50 years globally and we are extremely happy to begin this year with philanthropic initiatives such as the Deepalaya School Bus Donation. We have been associated with Deepalaya since 2006 and support the education of the girl child. This event has turned out to be an exhilarating experience. At Oriflame we are always looking forward to such initiatives”.
Talking about the event, A.J. Philip, CEO, Deepalaya School said, “We are extremely happy to have a global brand such as Oriflame associated to Deepalaya. The company has been benevolently supporting our school for many years. We are delighted that our students now travelcomfortably from their homes to the school and back”.
Oriflame has also been associated with SOS Children’s Villages of India and supports the former for the expenses towards two family homes in the SOS Children’s Village in Guwahati. The company has also partnered with Goonj for the collection of under-utilized materials (such as- woollen clothes, toys, books etc.) from many cities and deliver it to people in far-flung and remote areas of the country.
