3rd India And Sustainability Standards: International Dialogues And Conference 2016

What: 3rd India and Sustainability Standards: International Dialogues and Conference 2016

Where: India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi,

When: 16-18 November 2016

Why: The theme of the conference revolves around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – especially how the corporate sector is contributing/can contribute towards the achievement of some of these ambitious goals. There is a broad consensus that governments on their own will not be able to meet these goals. However, there are key roles that government ministries, departments and agencies need to play to ensure that businesses can operate efficiently to meet these goals. On the Plenary Inaugural Day, besides the inaugural session in morning, we have three High Level Panels, which would help us set the context for the conference and rest of the two days, by dialoguing on the following important subjects:

  • Relevance of Standards and Regulations for Sustainability
  • Sustainability Standards as Tools for Achieving SDGs
  • Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations for Sustainable Development

The Plenary Inaugural Day will conclude with the release of a documentary ‘For the Love of Cotton’ by National Geographic Channel and C&A.
